The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
The current U.S. policy in the Middle East is really getting outdated. And I would even say it stinks. That is why we are getting more isolated in this world. Call me a liberal if you want but I don't care because our kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids need to find a safe place to live.
Israel is our close ally, it is true. But that country has its own interests and the U.S. has primarily its own. Therefore our fate can not be bound to the fate of Israel. It is time we tell Israel we cannot babysit her forever.
We do not talk to Iran, and Syria, - big players in the Middle East - because we perceive them as our enemies. Maybe they are. I thought it was always better to keep our enemies close (...so we could better strangle them when the need arises).
As the situation of the world gets more complicated, we the voters need to take a second look, a third look at our leaders before we elect them because we cannot afford to have people without vision, smartness, and global perspective lead the U.S.
