Racism with a Mexican Face

Image
El " Presidente mexicano" Fox may have presented his regrets to Jackson or Sharpton for his remarks regarding Black Americans but he  was, in my opinion,  expressing subconsciously his racism or his prejudices about Black Americans when he said what he said. Talking on U.S. immigration policies toward Mexicans, Fox stated last week that Mexicans coming to this country would take jobs that "not even" Blacks want... It was like saying ...food  not even ....dogs would want to eat...  That's the racial overtone!!!!  Because in his mind, blacks in the U.S. represent a subclass of citizens only good for certain jobs. I did not know that  in the US some jobs were reserved for whites, some other jobs for blacks, some other for Mexicans, etc... Vincente Fox may know something that we don't know !!! This is what happens when we in America "nurture" racism at home.  They are always fools also abroad ready to follow our bad examples...

Waiting in line in front of a restaurant on Mother's Day? Forget it!

Today, May 8, Mother's Day, coming from church, I saw a line of people in line in front of a restaurant on Mother's Day waiting, so they can honor their mothers with a  meal!  Silly, silly, silly!.  Which Mother in her right mind, after spending nine months of misery carrying a baby, would want to spend two, three hours in front of the restaurant before she can eat! Not my mother and my wife! Some three years ago, my family decided to forget about standing in line in order to find a place to eat on Mother's Day.  If you guys out there do not understand where I am coming from, you really crazy...for food.  No wonder obesity is going up and up in America.  The last time we tried that, we waited for almost 3 hours before we could get to seat for our meals; then the waiter came, asked for our selections; he took him almost another two hours before he could bring our food. And do you know what happen next? My mother did not like the food she picked!  ...

This Week Was Really a Bore

Every improvement in communication makes the bore more terrible, said a guy named Frank Moore Colby. To me, with the improved media technology that can bring us the news every second, this week has been terrible in the press. That story of the so-called Runaway bride kept popping on whereevr I was: TV, computer, newspapers, etc.  It was really a bore!!!! It looked like the media was looking for something to stay on so it could improve its whatever: rating, circulation, viewing.  Then comes the scandal of the "American Idol".  Another story that keeps making us frown and frown , and make us wonder... And I know there are some good stories out there, like the one about the two teens who spent six days at sea before they rescued them.  Real lesson of survival, and no reality TV this time.  But the media was too busy following the  Runaway Bride (Jennifer Wilbanks whatever her name is) who can only teaches us deception, deception, and deception ...
