The deck is stacked at the outset

This kid is dead because the deck was stacked against him. Stacked by the same system that was claiming that "all men were created equal"... while other men were kept in slavery in houses of the same who wrote those lines and were impregnating black women..., while other men were being hang in the streets, lynched...

Some said the jury were exclusively applying the laws of self-defense, as though justice were not also a combination of fairness, morality and good.

I bet those women of that jury that got George Zimmerman free, without even a slap on the wrist, went to church thereafter.

They should and must be asking themselves: What Jesus would have done?

A nation or a country that cannot provide justice to its citizens would not enjoy peace, like Cain after he killed his brother Abel (Genesis 4:8)

Il y a neuf ans, Haiti Connexion Network (HCN) a lancé l'initiative -- bien vite imitée par certains médias d'Haiti -- de nommer à chaque fin d'année les personnalités qui ont marqué l'année de par leurs actes, leurs comportements ou même leur verbe et ont fait donc impact  sur le plus grand nombre, et ceci dans un sens positif.  Et peu de temps après cette initiative, nous nous sommes mis aussi à pointer du doigt des individus ou des évènements qui ont soulevé notre désapprobation,  provoqué notre rancœur voire notre colère. Nous venons donc une fois de plus avec nos choix de l’année ; choix qui  représentent en fait un formel éditorial (annuel) de nos positions quant aux évènements qui,  qu’on le veuille ou non, forgent nos vies.   Jules Romains  a beau nous dire que " les esprits d'élite discutent des idées, les esprits moyens discutent des évènements, les esprits médiocres discutent des personnes ", nous ne pouvons nous empêcher de reconnaitre...
